Detailed description of The Federal Club

The Federal Club Golf Course opened for play in 2007. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay.

The course is routed through The Mountain Run, an upscale residential community. It's north off I-295 at the Staples Mill/Mountain exit a few miles. It's still open to the public while they build the membership based. The course filed for bankruptcy in 2010, and so far they've been able to maintain the course while they work through those issues. The layout has a lot of variety, big greens, plenty of sand, water, a nice blend of parkland and links style of holes. Bring your Play it while it's still semi-private and open to the public.

New ownership has kept the course open with money invested in improvements having already been made.

The par-72 Federal Club layout offers five sets of tees, including the Black tees that make it a challenging 7,073 yards in total length for scratch golfers. Playing from the White, Gold and Red tees shortens the course for club members and visiting players, but not the enjoyment. The designers also included a U.S. Kids Junior set of tees that reduces the course length to 3,044 yards so that younger golfers can join adults for a round and still have a championship golf experience.
